Gregg Maura was appointed to the PM Investigative Committee as a public member on August 18, 2021. He was appointed to the position after a four-minute call with the Board.
Maura told the Board that he was interested in the public member position on the Investigative Committee primarily because he was "an animal lover to the Nth degree, especially when it comes to fairness to all parties, so that's kind of why I like being involved." He noted that he had been the president of his local homeowners' association for the past seven years and that he somehow always finds himself in such roles. We learn that he was interested when he heard of the opening, but we don't learn how he learned about it.
Board member Jane Soloman inquired as to Maura's background as a cardio-cath lab director and the medical background he may have. Maura replied that his father was a doctor and a former medical director for "a big hospital." Maura indicated that he himself ran a cardio-cath lab and also did some perfusion work in open heart procedures for three years at Parkland Hospital in Dallas "where they took Kennedy back in the day." He worked in heart research for some time and then was hired in Huntington Beach, California, to run their cath lab; he became a director there. He also states that his favorite place is emergency rooms.
LinkedIn also has information regarding a Gregg Maura who is likely the same individual. It states he was a pre-med major at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, but all of his listed work experience relates to the construction industry. He states he's worked as a construction consultant from Stein Mart since 1998 and owned Tomaura Construction Consulting since 2009. Most notably, in his volunteer experience, it states he's the President, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Architectural Board for 1702 Homes and the Arrowhead Ranch Phase III HOA; this entry also mentions interest in animal welfare. There appears to be no mentions of a prior occupational history in the medical field, but if he's tailored his profile to the construction industry, those may be intentionally left out.
